Abhinav Chellury is a junior at Plano West Senior High School and has competed in speech and debate for the last 3 years, both in middle school and high school. He competes primarily in Congressional Debate and World Schools. He placed 8th at the Harvard National Forensics Tournament and 7th at the Tournament of Champions, and has reached out rounds at multiple tournaments such as the University of Texas Longhorn Classic, TFA State, and the Sunvitational.
Amogh Anoo is a senior at Plano West Senior High School. He competes in Extemporaneous Speaking and has been competing for 4 years. He has qualified to TFA State three times, and has qualified for the Tournament of Champions. Additionally, he has reached elimination rounds in numerous local and national tournaments.
Ananshi Patel is a sophomore at Jasper High School who specializes in Public Forum Debate. She has competed in speech and debate for three years and qualified for the 2021 TFA State Tournament. Additionally, she has received a silver bid for the Tournament of Champions, championed several local tournaments, and was the first runner-up for the NSDA National Tournament.
Anushka Kumar is a senior at Plano West Senior High School and primarily competes in Extemporaneous Speaking and Congressional Debate. She placed 5th at the TFA State Tournament in Extemporaneous Speaking and has reached the semifinals at numerous national tournaments including Harvard, Yale, Glenbrooks, Bronx, and UT.
Brady Zeng is a junior at Plano West and has competed in Public Forum for 2 years. He qualified to Gold TOC, NSDA Nationals, and TFA State (x2). In his sophomore season, he broke to elimination rounds at all but 2 tournaments he attended, including semifinals at Arizona State Invitational and finals at Princeton and other locals. He reached late elimination rounds at major tournaments including UT, Valley, and TFA State, and was top speaker at Colleyville Invitational.
Brennan Lee is a rising junior who competes in both Public Forum debate and Extemporaneous speaking. He has qualified for TFA state in 3 different events, the Tournament of Champions, Extemp Tournament of Champions, and NSDA nationals. In addition, he has reached outrounds at numerous national tournaments including Plano West, TFA State, James Logan,and the TOC as well as finaling at numerous locals.
Charles Hou is a senior at Plano West Senior High School and primarily competes in extemporaneous speaking. He has placed at numerous state and national tournaments including 5th place at the MBA Round Robin (for the best 16 extempers in the nation), 6th place at ETOC, 3rd place at UT, 4th place at Yale and 11th at the National Speech and Debate Tournament.
Danielle Wang is a junior at Plano West Senior High who competes in public speaking and oral interpretation. She’s been a member of Speech for many years, and in her sophomore year, she was a co-captain for the oral interpretation program at Jasper High School. She has competed and placed in numerous tournaments throughout the years and was a finalist at the Plano Clark Swing and Princeton TFA tournament in her sophomore season.
Emily Hu is a sophomore at Greenhill School and competes in World Schools Debate. She has placed in local tournaments and reached elimination rounds at national tournaments such as Stanford, in addition to her team placing 3rd at TFA State.
Gabriel Bo is a Junior at Plano West Senior High School. He competes in Extemp and Oratory. He placed 6th at the UT Longhorn Invitational, placed top 12 at the Extemp Tournament of Champions, along with a finals placing at the TFA State tournament. He has qualified for several National Tournaments and reached many out rounds such as quarterfinals at the Harvard Invitational, Sunvite, Glenbrooks, and octofinals at the TOC & National Tournament.
Govind Pattathil is a junior at Hebron High school. He competes primarily in Extemporaneous Speaking and has qualified and competed at the TOC, TFA State, and NSDA nationals. In addition, he has reached late elimination rounds at local, state, and national level tournaments.
Julia Duan is a junior at Plano West Senior High School who primarily competes in Congressional Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking. She has reached outrounds at several state and national tournaments, including finals at the Sunvite Invitational, semifinals at the UC Berkeley Invitational, and semifinals at TFA State.
Justin Zhu is a junior at Plano West High School and competes in Congressional Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking. He has reached outrounds at national tournaments, such as quarterfinals at the Tournament of Champions and semifinals at Stanford. He is a TFA State qualifier in Congress.
Karin Liu is a senior and 4th year public forum debater at Oakton High School. Nationally, she qualified to the TOC twice, quarterfinaling ASU and Blue Key as well as octafinaling NCFL which autoqualified her to next year's TOC. Locally, she qualified to Varsity Metrofinals twice and placed second at states. She’s the captain of Oakton’s Public Forum team where she organizes logistics, coaches the team, and helps run meetings.
Kate Lee is a sophomore at Jasper High School and has competed in extemp, congress, oratory, and public forum debate. She was ranked 3rd in extemporaneous debate at the Middle School National Tournament, and now competes on the high school circuit. She has placed in both events at the local level, qualifying for NSDA nationals and the TFA state tournament where she semifinaled in congress and quarterfinaled in domestic extemp.
Kelly Hu is a senior at Plano West Senior High School. She competes primarily in Extemp and Congress and has reached the elimination rounds of state and national tournaments, including 1st at the Blue Key Invitational, 6th at TFA State, and quarterfinals at NSDA Nationals and ETOC. She has also competed in World Schools, placing 1st at the Isidore Newman School Invitational and receiving an invite to the Kandi King Round Robin.
Kendall Carll is a Senior at Lovejoy High school where he serves as President of the Speech and Debate Team. He has qualified to the TFA State tournament, the Tournament of Champions Silver Division, and the NSDA National Tournament. He has also broke to late out rounds at numerous national tournaments including Plano West, NSDA Nationals, and the Tournament of Champions.
Krutin Devesh is a senior at Greenhill School and competes primarily in Lincoln-Douglas debate. He placed 2nd at Harvard-Westlake, 3rd at TFA State, and 3rd at Blake. He has been invited to the Greenhill, Voices, DebateLA (3rd place) and King (3rd Place) Round Robins and cleared at the Tournament of Champions, NSDA Nationals, and the NDCA Championship.
Leo Yu is a senior at Plano West Senior High school and competes in Congressional Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking. Along with being a qualifier to the National Speech and Debate tournament, he has also reached numerous outrounds, including the semi finals at the University of Texas Longhorn Classic, finals at the TFA state tournament, and quarterfinals at the Harvard tournament.
Madeline Tsao is a junior at Plano West and competes primarily in Extemporaneous Speaking and World Schools Debate. She placed 4th at the UT Longhorns Classic, semifinaled at TFA State and ETOC, and quarterfinaled at Nats her sophomore year. In Worlds, she is 1 of 11 students chosen to represent Team Texas at national & international tournaments, such as EurOpen 2021, where the team she captained broke 8th seed out of 66 in their division.
Nathan is a Junior at Plano East Senior High, and competes in LD. Nathan has had competitive success across the national circuit such as Octas and 2nd speaker at TFA State, going 7-0 at Havard, earning two bids to the Tournament of Champions, and winning his NSDA Nationals District tournament. He’s experienced in mentoring younger debaters, and even the 2021 Middle school TOC LD champion!
Meghna Subramanium is a senior at Plano West Senior High and competes primarily in Public Forum Debate. She is a qualifier to the TFA State tournament where she reached elimination rounds. Additionally, she works with Beyond Resolved, an organization dedicated to eliminating inequality from the Speech and Debate space.
Olivia Fan is a senior at Plano West Senior High School who competes primarily in Original Oratory. She has reached outrounds at national tournaments, such as semi-finals at the UT Longhorn Classic and quarterfinals at the Bronx Invitational. Additionally, she is a TFA state qualifier in Original Oratory, Domestic Extemp, and Informative Speaking and a 2019 NSDA Qualifier in Original Oratory.
Patrick Lu is a junior at Plano West Senior High School and competes primarily in Congressional Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking. He has qualified twice for TFA State, also qualifying for the Tournament of Champions in Congress his sophomore year. In addition, he has reached numerous outrounds at state and national tournaments.
Pranav Kalakuntla is a sophomore at Jasper High School who primarily competes in International Extemp and Congressional Debate. He is a qualifier to the TFA State Tournament and has placed at many local tournaments.
Phoena Lin is a junior at Plano West Senior High School who primarily competes in Congressional Debate, World Schools Debate, and Extemporaneous Speaking. Over the last two years, Phoena has reached numerous elimination rounds, including Top 60 at NSDA Nationals; semi-finals at TFA State, the Sunvitational, and the Tournament of Champions; and finals at UT.
Prisha Vithalani is currently a Sophomore at Jasper High School who competes primarily in Congressional Debate. During her freshmen year, she placed at numerous local high school tournaments and qualified for the Texas Forensic Association State Tournament, where she broke to the semi-finals round. Outside of Speech and Debate, she enjoys swimming, reading, and volunteering.
Priyanka Gupta is a senior at Plano West Senior High School and has competed primarily in Public Forum Debate for 4 years. She is a two-time qualifier to the TFA State Tournament and has also qualified to the Tournament of Champions and NSDA Nationals. Additionally, she has reached elimination rounds at several national tournaments such as the Columbia University Invitational and Glenbrooks.
Sanjana Kumar is a sophomore at Jasper High School and primarily competes in Public Forum Debate. She has been a part of the speech and debate community for nearly four years, and has qualified to the 2021 TFA State Tournament, as well as championed local tournaments. She has also received a silver bid for the Tournament of Champions, and was the first runner-up to the NSDA National Tournament.
Satvik Mahendra is a rising junior who has competed in Public Forum Debate for 2 years. This year, he reached elimination rounds at all but two of the tournaments he competed at, including tournaments like UT, Colleyville, and Plano West. Furthermore, he reached semifinals at the Arizona State Invitational, quarterfinals at Valley, and won Princeton HS. He also qualified to Gold Tournament of Champions, NSDA Nationals, and TFA State.
Selim Kim is a sophomore at Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire and competes in both the Lincoln Douglas and Parliamentary debate formats. She has ranked in the top ten speaker rankings across many New England parliamentary circuit tournaments and has also placed with her partner. Selim has also had prior experience in Public Forum and Oratory.
Sophia Zhang is a junior at TAMS who has been competing for the past 5 years, and primarily competes in public speaking events. She mainly focuses on interp events such as dramatic interpretation, duo, and humorous interpretation. She also served as an interp captain for the Jasper speech and debate team. She has also placed consistently at tournaments, and plans on continually competing throughout high school.
Srjana Srivatsa is a rising junior at Plano West High School and competes in Congressional Debate and Original Oratory. Along with qualifying for the National Speech and Debate Tournament, she has also double qualified for the TFA State Tournament and has placed at multiple local tournaments in OO and Congressional Debate.
Vibha Chemangunta is a senior at Plano East Senior High School. She primarily competes in Oratory and Informative Speaking. She currently serves as Co-President of the Plano East Speech and Debate Team. She has won 2nd place at the TFA State Tournament, 3rd at the UT Longhorn Classic, and 7th at the Glenbrooks National Tournament. Vibha has also qualified to NSDA Nationals, NIETOC, and the TOC.
